Zingiber aromaticum is a medicinal plant with many properties including Anti inflammatory. The cones are green when they are young, turning a striking red at the base of the cone with yellow flowers. The yellow flowers, shoots and young rhizome tips are used to flavor foods. It can also be eaten raw or cooked with rice.
